This dialog enables you to open a process data sheet for an instrument tag in the Process Data or Calculation modules. If you open the tag in the Calculation module, you can then calculate it.
To open this dialog from the Process Data module, on the Edit menu, point to Open Process Data, and then select Instrument. To open this dialog from the Calculation module, on the Edit menu, point to Calculation, and then select the required process function.
Tag class
Enables you to select a tag class that you require. Tag numbers are classified according to the following tag classes:

Tag number data field
Type the name of the required tag number. If you have the appropriate access rights, you can type in a new tag number that you want to add to your plant. Use the Tab key or the left and right arrow keys to move the cursor to the next place. Corrections or changes are usually made by overwriting the existing value. Alternatively, you can select the characters to be modified with the mouse pointer and then type the new content.
To create a new tag number, you must comply with the naming conventions set for the current unit by the Domain Administrator.
For the alphanumeric part of the name, you can type any character (letters, digits, spaces, etc.) For the numeric part of the name, no characters other than digits (0 to 9) can be used.
Example: 101–FE – 2225/E
101 - prefix derived from the tag naming convention defined by the Domain Administrator.
FE - function identifier
2225 - loop number that this tag is associated with
E - suffix
Find
Select to open the Find Tag dialog, where you can find the required tag number. The tag number you find will be automatically displayed in the Tag Number data field after you select OK in the Find Tag dialog.
