This dialog allows you to create a new block for use in CAD loop or hook-up drawings (select a block type and on the shortcut menu select New), or modify properties of an existing block (select a block and on the shortcut menu select Properties), or duplicate an existing block (select a block, and on the shortcut menu select Duplicate). You can create, edit, or duplicate blocks according to the block types to which the block belong.
The following block types are available:
A shipped block type that allows you to define, edit or duplicate a block that you can associate with a loop number. You cannot associate loop blocks with instruments. Loop blocks are shown as .
Instrument Block
A user-defined block type that allows you to define, edit, or duplicate a block that you can associate with an instrument. You cannot associate instrument blocks with loops. Instrument blocks are shown as .
Border
A shipped block type that allows you to define a border block for use in all loop drawings or hook-up drawings. You can also modify properties of an existing loop or hook-up drawing border block. Border blocks are shown as .
Logo
A shipped block type that allows you to define a logo block for use in all loop drawings or hook-up drawings. You can also modify properties of an existing loop or hook-up drawing logo block. Logo blocks are shown as .
User-Defined General Block
A user-defined block type that allows you to define, edit, or duplicate a block that you want to use in all loop drawings in addition to the border and logo blocks. You cannot use such block in hook-up drawings. User-defined general blocks are shown as .
General block (view-only)
When selected, indicates that the block belongs to the general block type.
Block type (view-only)
Displays the block type to which the current block belongs.
Block
Allows you to type a unique name of the new hook- up drawing border or logo block. Block names are not case- sensitive. For example, block names myBorder and MyBorder are considered to be identical (non-unique).
Description
Allows you to type a short optional description.
Drawing block file
These options allow you to define the drawing block file to be used as the source for the new block.
Global path
Displays the global path set for the drawing block files.
File name
Allows you to type the file name or select Browse to select the required file. Make sure that the file you select is compatible with the CAD application installed on your computer.
File path
Allows you to specify the exact path of the drawing block file.
Origin
These options allow you to define the X and Y origin parameters to position the new block in the drawing.
X origin
Allows you to type the X origin parameter.
Y origin
Allows you to type the Y origin parameter.
View
Displays a graphic image of the selected block in your CAD application.
