This dialog allows you to import from an external PDS database P&ID components such as, tags, drawings, and so forth. You can only import P&ID data from a PDS database into an existing target <unit> for which naming conventions have been defined.
The following preconditions must be met to make this function operable:

Work only in Table Import mode (not in Module Import mode)

Prior to starting the Import Utility, start the Administration module and enter as Domain Administrator to import the required PDS Link Groups from the In_ctlog.ddti file located in the application root folder (select External Import Links from the Add-Ons menu).

Select the appropriate database platform (in Oracle you also select the database platform version) from which to import data:

Name
Type or select from a list box the appropriate connection string according to your DBMS selection:

Database
If you selected SQL Server as your database platform, type the database name.
Project control database
The project control database contains control schema information: that is, data for the source unit and drawing numbers.
Name
Type the appropriate PDS control database project name where the source units are located.
Password
Type the password required to connect to the PDS control database project.
P&ID source database
The P&ID source database contains source schema information: that is, data for the source loop, tag number, and wiring components.
Name
Type the appropriate PDS P&ID source database name.
Password
Type the password required to connect to the PDS P&ID source database.
PDS codes
Type the full path to the PDS Codes Description file Attribute.txt or select Browse to navigate to the Attribute.txt file.
Use code description
Select this check box to replace the PDS codes with their descriptions, after you selected the appropriate PDS codes description file.
