13.1

Allows you to filter the display of items in the tree view of an active Domain Explorer or Reference Explorer window. The filter appears when you right-click, and select New Filter from any folder node in: Domain or Reference Explorer. Filter settings take effect only for the user who defines the filter, and only in the current instance of your Domain or Reference Explorer.

  • The software retains the filter settings for a particular folder or hierarchy node until you clear that filter.

  • When applying a filter the to Cables folder, Fieldbus Home-run cables are always displayed in the results, regardless of the filter criteria selected. For example if you filter Cable Name = 100 all the cables that contain 100 in their name are displayed as well as any Home run cables in the folder. To filter just cables with out the Home run cables you need to apply 2 filters. For more information, see Applying Filters to a Cable Folder - Example.

New Clear Filter (Clear Filter)

Clears a filter of the selected folder node from which you opened the Filter Definition dialog.

(Advanced)

Is enabled only when the selected folder is Loops, Typical Loops, Cables, Cross Cables, and P&ID drawings that are associated with loops.

For P&ID drawings you select the drawing required in the P&ID folder, and in the Filter Definition > Item Type select Loop.

Items Type

This option allows you to filter the tree view according to a specific Items Type. You can set the filter for the entire tree view of the active Explorer view, a selected folder or parent node, or a specific item within a folder. You can then specify a particular item type property that will further define your filter. For more information on how to use the Filter Definition including examples, see: Filter Items in an Explorer Window According to a Specific Item Type.

Lists the item type/s appropriate for the folder selected. Any parent node that you selected in the tree view, or a specific item that you select. You can filter either the entire tree view, a selected folder or parent node, or a specific item.

You use this option when you specify more than one filter condition. The option allows you to select the required logical operator (And or Or) to determine how the next filter expression will relate to the current expression. When you have a mixture of logical operators for several conditions, the software performs the expressions on the conditions in order, for example:
(A and B) or C
(A or B) and C

NewExplorer_CustomView_Remove Delete

Deletes the selected filtering condition.

Filters the child items that belong to a folder or parent node that you selected in the Explorer tree view. This option only applies to the item type you selected from the Items Type list. Also, the software sets this filter only for the current Explorer instance.

Filters the selected item only. This filter becomes available only when you select a specific item. For example, an Instrument from the Instruments folder.

Filters the entire tree view of the current Explorer instance for all the items belonging to the item type you selected from the Items type list.

Current lowest plant hierarchy level
