You use this dialog to select specific source and target rows which you want the Import Utility to use during the data transfer. You can also start the import process from this dialog after selecting the rows to import from the source to the target.

To make this option available when working in batch mode or when running a link group, specify the deviation options in the Link Properties dialog (Comparison).

To access this dialog, select in the Import Link window.

Data Window

Displays all the target and source rows. Source rows are displayed if there are rows whose mode is Insert. Note that rows highlighted in light blue indicate that the contents of these rows have changed. All the fields in the data window except for Select are read-only.

Select

Select the appropriate check box to include the row in the import process.

Mode

This column specifies the operation that the displayed source and target rows will undergo during the import process. The modes are determined as follows:

D

Row exists in the target only. The row will be deleted from the target table during the import process.

I

Row exists in the source only. The row will be inserted into the target table during the import process.

U

Row exists in the source and target with the same primary key. The row will be overwritten and updated during the import process.

R

Row exists in the source and target with a different primary key. The row will be refreshed during the import process using the parameters defined in the RefreshParameters dialog.

Target Fields

All the other columns apart from Select and Mode display the expected target columns, that is, the columns which the target will contain after the import process is carried out.

Select rows

Use these options to select the required rows to be processed during import.

All

Selects all the available rows to be processed during the import process. This overrides any selection that you may have made in the Select column.

None

Cancels the selection of the rows that you have made. All the check box selections in the Select column are cleared.

Inserted

Includes in the import process all the source and target rows whose status is Inserted. All the rows whose Mode notation is I become selected.

Deleted

Includes in the import process all the source and target rows whose status is Delete. All the rows whose Mode notation is D become selected.

Updated

Includes in the import process all the source and target rows whose status is Update. All the rows whose Mode notation is U become selected.

Refreshed

Includes in the import process all the source and target rows whose status is Refreshed. All the rows whose Mode notation is R become selected.

Show

Use these options to filter the row display in the data window.

All

Select this option button to display all the target rows.

Selected

Select this option button to display only the selected target rows. Selecting this option will hide all the rows whose Select check box is not selected.

By Mode

Select this option button to display the rows according to the import mode. The options in the Import mode section become active.

Import mode

Use these options to filter the row display according to the import mode. These options become available after selecting by Mode in the Show group box.

Updated

Displays all the rows whose status is Update, that is, all the rows that have the U notation in the Mode column.

Deleted

Displays all the rows whose status is Deleted, that is, all the rows that have the D notation in the Mode column.

Inserted

Displays all the rows whose status is Inserted, that is, all the rows that have the I notation in the Mode column.

Refreshed

Displays all the rows whose status is Refreshed, that is, all the rows that have the R notation in the Mode column.

Display

Filters the display according to your selections in the Import mode group box.

Data changes

Use these options to display a report showing a comparison of properties that have different values in the source and the target.

Show all

Displays the report for all rows where the properties have different source and target values.

Show selected

Displays the report only for the selected rows where the properties have different source and target values.

Display

Opens the report according to your selection.

Reopen the Comparison List

Returns you to this dialog after running the import test or after the actual import of data.

Run

Starts the actual import of data. Remember to select this button only after you have finished making all the required definitions.

Test

Tests the import of data without actually importing the data to the target.

Sort

Opens the Specify Sorting Fields dialog, where you can set a sorting sequence for the displayed rows in the Import Comparison List.

Filter

Opens the Import Target Filter dialog, where you can set a filtering condition for the Import Comparison List.

Print

Opens the Print Import Comparison List dialog, where you can view and print out the contents of the Import Comparison List.

Info

Displays the total number of rows, the number of rows to be deleted, inserted, and updated. You can invoke this command both before and after the import process.
