This dialog enables you to add new user-defined function blocks to your instrument index, delete the redundant ones, or modify the definition of existing user-defined function blocks.

To access this dialog, open the Instrument Index Module window and select Tables > Function Blocks.

Find function block

Allows you to find a record in the data window. Type the item you want to find and the software highlights the record in the data window below.

Displays all the existing function blocks: user-defined and the ones shipped with Smart Instrumentation. You can edit or delete user-defined function blocks as you need. However, you cannot delete the shipped function blocks, nor can you rename them or edit their descriptions.

Function Block

Displays the function block name. Allows you to edit user-defined function blocks. Also, when creating user-defined function blocks, type the function block name after selecting New. You cannot rename a shipped function block.

Description

Displays the function block description. Allows you to edit user-defined function block descriptions. Also, when creating user-defined function blocks, type the function block description after selecting New. You cannot modify a shipped function block.

Multiple

Defines this function block as Multiple. This enables you to create multiple function blocks of the same type when adding or editing a tag number associated with the current function block and when associating this function block with an instrument type in the Function Block - Instrument Type Association dialog.

Execution Time

Enable execution time definition for the current function block. You will be able to set the execution time when associating this function block with an instrument type or a tag number in the Function Block - Instrument Type Association dialog.
