Many actions in Smart Instrumentation require you to first select items before continuing the action, for example; Loops, Tags, Instruments and so forth. Before selecting the required items, you have to find them. The software comes shipped with queries that are used by the Find dialog boxes to find and display the correct content. You can use these queries "As Is" or create your own find query. Creating your own find is very similar to creating a regular query, except that there are certain properties that are mandatory. For information on how to create a query, see Create a Query. Without these properties your query cannot be displayed by the software. These properties vary depending on the module and Find dialog the query is created for. When the query is selected from the Query list in a dialog, a set of filters within the software and these mandatory properties display the required values in the Find grid.
The following lists the Smart Instrumentation modules and the properties that must be included in your query.

Save as File (Print to PDF) When generating and saving PDFs in a Windows environment, you must have read/write permission for the folder where you save the PDF files. This is because of security features in Windows which only allows users with access to a folder, to save to that folder, even if the path and folder were set in Smart Instrumentation. If you are unable to save a PDF, try changing the path and folder to a folder that you are sure you have access to. |
