This dialog enables you to modify the definitions of one or more item sub-libraries you select in the Reference Explorer or create a new user-defined sub-library. An item sub-library is a term which refers to a part of an item library and contains a specific set of hook-up item data and associations. There are two types of sub-libraries available. These are:
Default sub-library
Enables you to assign any number of hook-up items and hook-ups. When associating tag numbers with hook-ups that are assigned to the default sub-library, you can use any unassigned tag numbers. The software creates a default sub-library for every item library that you add in Smart Instrumentation. If you do not use any other sub-libraries, the default sub- library becomes the active item library in your <plant>. You cannot use the default sub-library for pipe spec assignment.
User-defined sub-library
Enables you to assign hook-up items and pipe specs. After you assign a hook-up with a user-defined sub- library that has associated pipe specs, the software automatically filters the tag numbers that you can associate with this hook-up. After assigning a pipe spec with a user-defined sub-library, when making tag - hook-up associations, you can only use tag numbers that have the source pipe spec data.
Also, you can use this dialog to duplicate existing user- defined sub libraries. When duplicating an item sub-library, the software also duplicates the hook-up items assigned to the source sub-library. You cannot duplicate the default sub- library within the same hook-up library because you can only have one default sub-library per item library.
Item sub-library
Allows you to define or edit the name of the item sub-library. The item library name must be unique within the item library. The maximum sub-library name length is twenty characters (names are not case-sensitive). You can include special characters in the name string.
