The Terminal Connection dialog allows you to view the automatically propagated signals. Also, you can change an existing signal (that is, a tag number) propagation for a selected terminal. You can reinforce or change the current propagation or modify the current connection sequence as needed. After changing the wire group or signal level values, Smart Instrumentation automatically propagates the signal according to the new settings.

The left and right panes of this dialog display the connections on both sides of the terminal that you double-clicked. Smart Instrumentation displays each existing signal under the cable, cable set, wire, and polarity pertaining to that signal.

To access this dialog, in the Connection window or the Cross Wiring window, beside a wired terminal, double-click .

Terminal number

Displays the terminal that you clicked. You can select another terminal in the current terminal strip. You can display the next or the previous terminal by clicking Previous or Next.

Data Window

For each wire, the left pane displays the wire (upper row) and signal (lower row) properties of the left-hand wire, and the right pane displays the wire and signal properties of the right- hand wire. The upper column headers describe the values of the upper row for each wire. The lower column headers describe the signal values.

Upper Row

Cable

Displays the name of the cable to which the wire belongs.

Cable Set

Displays the name of the cable set to which the wire belongs.

Wire

Displays the wire tag. In the Connection window, a wire with a signal displays the signal name instead of this wire tag name.

Polarity

Displays the wire polarity.

On Top

In case several wires are connected to the same side of the terminal, displays the current terminal in the Connection window. This allows you to display the adjacent connections for that wire.

Lower Row

Signal

Allows you to select a new signal. Note that this list contains all of the tag signals that feed into the terminal strip, including those that are included in a general signal.

Signal Level

Allows you to select a new signal level. If you select 0 (zero) the software disregards the signal level setting for the current signal and the current wire group will not have any signal level.

Sequence

Allows you to select a wire sequence assigned to the current terminal.

Signal

Opens a dialog where you can generate a new signal at the strip level.
