You use this dialog to define the cable connection, selecting the cable sets that you want to connect a terminal strip.

This dialog opens from the Connection window, after you drag a cable or a cable set to a terminal.

Cable

Displays the name of the cable that you are connecting.

Cable end to connect

Allows you to select the end of the cable that you want to connect to the terminal strip.

End 1

Connects the first cable end.

End 2

Connects the second cable end.

Location

Displays the End 1 Location and End 2 Location fields for the cable that you are connecting. Note that you define these fields on the Cable dialog.

Panel

Displays the name of the panel containing the terminal strip that you selected in the Connection window.

Terminal Strip

Displays the name of the terminal strip that you selected in the Connection window.

Start at terminal

Allows you to change the terminal wire to which you connect the first wire by selecting a starting terminal for the connection.

Cable set connection details

The options in this data window allow you to select the cable sets that you want to connect. Also, you can set the values of the fields in each cable set. The options become accessible after selecting a row.

Seq

Displays the sequence of the cable sets. Smart Instrumentation arranges the order of the selected cable sets from upper to lower. You can change the sequence manually by typing values of your choice in this field.

Cable Set

Displays the name of the cable set. Select a cable set to select it for connection or clear a selected set to cancel the selection.

Connection Type

Allows you to select an appropriate connection type for the cable set.

Terminal Side

Allows you to select L (left) or R (right) for the physical side of the terminal where the cable set enters. A screw head indicates that the cable set is already connected on the selected cable end.

Select all cable sets

Allows you to select for connection all the cable sets displayed in the Cable set connection details data window.

Connect

Connects the selected cable sets according to the options that you selected.
