You use the Favorites to store and organize items you frequently use. The Favorites tab is shared between Domain Explorer and Reference Explorer. You access the Favorites folder from the menu bar. Select Tools > Favorites.

To add items to the Favorites tab, do the following:

  1. Select one or more items in the Domain or in the Reference Explorer. To select multiple items, select an item and then press and hold the CTRL key while selecting more items.

  2. Right-click the items and select Add to Favorites.

  3. In the My Favorites dialog, select Add.

To add items to folders in the Favorites tab:

  1. In the Domain or in the Reference Explorer, select the item you want to add.

  2. Right-click, and select Add to Favorites

  3. On the Add to Favorites dialog, do the following:

    1. To add the item to an existing folder, choose a folder from the Create in drop-down menu, and select Add.

    2. To add the item to a new folder, select the New Folder button.

  4. On the Create New Folder dialog, in the Folder Name field, enter a name for your new folder.

  5. Choose the location for the folder, from the Create in drop-down menu, and select Create.

  6. Back on the Add to Favorites dialog, select Add.

  7. Open the Favorites Explorer (select Tools > Favorites) to see the newly created folders.

  • Drag and drop functionality is not available between the Favorites and the Domain or Reference Explorers.

  • You can drag and drop plant cables from the Favorites only to the Connection window and the Batch Device Cable Connection window.

To remove items or folders from the Favorites tab:

  • To remove an item or a folder, right-click the item, and select Remove.

  • To remove all the content of your Favorites tab, select and right-click any item or folder, and select Remove All.

If you delete a folder, the contents of that folder is also deleted.

To rename folders in the Favorites tab:

  1. Right-click the folder you want to rename, and select Rename Folder.

  2. Type a new name for the folder and press ENTER.
