This dialog box enables you to save Smart Instrumentation data as an external file in Microsoft Excel format or in any format supported by PowerSoft: .psr, .dbf .txt, .wks .wk1 .xls, .xlsx, and so forth.

Saving as an .xls Excel formated file is limited to 65,536 rows (256 columns). Use the .xlsx Excel format, to save more than 65,536 rows (256 columns).

Original — Select this option to save the report data in all the fields, including the ones that are not visible in the preview (for example, internal database ID numbers).  This option is recommended if you want to save the file in .psr or .xls format, or if you want to re-import the data into Smart Instrumentation at a later stage.

If you select the Original option, the subsequent dialog box will allow you to define file name, file type and encoding method. We recommend that you use Unicode for saving Smart Instrumentation reports.

Data only — Select this option to save only the report data that is visible in the preview.  This option is recommended for easier viewing of the data, and enables you to manipulate the headers and select the columns you want to display.

DXF file — Select this option to save the file in .dxf format for import into a CAD program (for example, AutoCAD, MicroStation).  On selection of this option, you can specify certain options for the saved file.

If you are attempting to save a print report that exceeds the amount of data it can save to DXF files. Filter one of the columns in your EDE View to reduce the amount of data, then re-generate the Print Report, and save.

Include headers — Select this check box to include the column headers in the new file you are saving.  This option is available only if you selected the Data only check box.

Edit headers — Select this option to open the Edit Column Headers dialog box where you can edit the column headers that Smart Instrumentationsaves in the new external file.  This option is available only if you selected the Data only and Include headers check boxes.
