  1. On the Windows Start menu, point to the PD Shell program group and select PD Shell.

  2. In the Plant Design System Environment window, in the list box, select the PDS project to which you want to import dimensional data for piping, and select Reference Data Manager.

  3. Select Piping Job Specification Manager.

  4. Select Instrument Data.

  5. Under Instrument Data, do the following:

  6. In the Node Name box, type the computer name for the <Smart Instrumentation home folder>\DDP\Output folder.

    After you type data in a PDS text box, remember to press Enter before continuing.

  7. In the File Path box, type the path to the <Smart Instrumentation home folder>\DDP\Output folder.

  8. Do one of the following:

    • To append data that you exported from Smart Instrumentation DDP to instrument specifications already in the project, select Load.

    • To delete any existing instrument specifications before loading, select Replace.

  9. In the File Name box, type neutral.dat.

  10. On the toolbar, select PPM All Outputs Graphic to load the instrument specifications to the reference database.

  11. On the toolbar, select PPM All Outputs Graphic.

  12. If your PDS project uses both unapproved and approved libraries, on the main Piping Job Specification Manager window select Unapprove ==> Approve. On the toolbar, select PPM All Outputs Graphic.

  13. In response to the warning message that spec records will be overwritten, in the message box select OK, and on the toolbar, select PPM All Outputs Graphic.

  14. On the toolbar, select PPM All Outputs Graphic.

  15. In the Reference Data Manager, select Material Description Library Manager.

  16. Select Specialty Description Library.

  17. Under Specialty Material Description Library, do the following:

  18. Select Load/Revise Interactive.

  19. Under Types, select Instruments.

  20. On the toolbar, select PPM All Outputs Graphic.

  21. Under Specialty Material Description Library, do the following to load the material descriptions:

  22. In the Node Name box, type the computer name for the <Smart Instrumentation home folder>\DDP\Output folder.

  23. In the File Path box, type the path to the <Smart Instrumentation home folder>\DDP\Output folder.

  24. In the File Name box, type mto.dat.

  25. On the toolbar, select PPM All Outputs Graphic.

  26. If your PDS project uses both unapproved and approved libraries, select Unapprove ==> Approve. On the toolbar, select PPM All Outputs Graphic.

  27. On the toolbar, select PPM All Outputs Graphic.

  28. In the Material Description Library Manager window, on the toolbar, select PPM All Outputs Graphic.

  29. In the Reference Data Manager window, select Physical Data Library Manager.

  30. Under Library/Data Management, do the following:

  31. From the list to the right of the command buttons, select the practice (for example US Practice).

  32. On the toolbar, select PPM All Outputs Graphic.

  33. Do the following:

    1. In the Node Name box, type the computer name for the <Smart Instrumentation home folder>\DDP\Output folder.

    2. In the File Path box, type the path to the <Smart Instrumentation home folder>\DDP\Output folder.

  34. Select Create / Interactive Data.

  35. To the right of the command buttons, toggle the Single button to display List.

  36. In the box to the right of List, type listfile.txt.

  37. On the toolbar, select PPM All Outputs Graphic.

  38. If your PDS project uses both unapproved and approved libraries, select Unapproved ==> Approved. On the toolbar, select PPM All Outputs Graphic.

  39. On the toolbar, select PPM All Outputs Graphic.

  40. In the Physical Data Library Manager window, under Library/Data Management, on the toolbar, select PPM All Outputs Graphic.

  41. In the Reference Data Manager window, on the toolbar, select PPM All Outputs Graphic.

  42. In the Plant Design System Environment window, select PPM All Outputs Graphic to exit PDShell.
