When performing mapping activities, errors may occur in the target database; for example, when an attempt is made to map entity in the source with a target entity that already exists in the target tool. In such cases, on completion of the mapping process, a message is displayed that errors have occurred. These errors appear in the Filter list under the Errors option.
Mapping errors may occur when performing the following activities:
-
Mapping entities (automatically or manually)
-
Removing mapping from entities
-
Disabling entities for mapping
-
Enabling entities for mapping
-
Select the required entities.
-
At the top right of the Target pane, click and then select one of the following options:
-
Preview Automatic Mapping
-
Preview Mapping
-
Disable for Mapping
-
Enable for Mapping
-
Remove Mapping
-
-
If you selected one of the mapping preview options, click the MAP command.
-
At the confirmation prompt, click Yes.
If an error message appears (for example, Mapping completed with errors), do the following:
-
In the Filter list, click Errors:
The entities with errors appear under the filter:
-
Click a row in the list to see details of the error:
-
Rows that appear under the Errors filter also remain under the original filter category where they appeared before the error occurred according to the action that took place:
-
Mapping an entity — Unmapped filter
-
Removing mapping — Mapped filter
-
Disabling an entity for mapping — Unmapped filter
-
Enabling an entity for mapping — Disabled filter
-
-
Once the cause of an error is resolved, the affected entities are removed from the Errors filter.
