Prior to installing Oracle Client, you must previously have installed Microsoft .NET Framework.

Start the Oracle Universal Installer.

On the Welcome page, select Next.

On the Specify Source Location page, check that the path is pointing to the correct location, and then select Next.

On the Select Installation Type page, from the list, select one of the following:
Administrator
For users who need Administrator functions, such as the ability to create tablespaces.
Runtime
For all other users.

Select Next.

On the Select Product Languages page, select the required languages.

Select Next.

On the Specify Oracle Home User page, select the required option.

Select Next.

On the Specify Installation Location page, check that the path in the Oracle Base field is pointing to the where you want to install the software. Select Browse to change the location.

The Oracle base by default points to the same Oracle base created when you installed the Oracle server.

The Software Location fields are updated according to the information in the Oracle Base field. If you want to change this location, use Browse to navigate to the required location.

Select Next.

On the Summary page, select Install.

On the Finish page, on completion of the installation, select Exit.

At the prompt, select Yes.

Restart the client computer.

Create an alias to the Oracle database on the client computer using Oracle Net Manager. The alias name can contain any alphanumeric characters without spaces.

If required, install the appropriate Oracle client patch.
