  • You must uninstall any previous build of Smart Electrical Web API and unregister it on the authentication server (such as Hexagon's Intergraph Smart Application Manager (SAM) or Okta) before installing a new build. It is recommended that you keep the details of the registration because you will need to re-register Smart Electrical Web API on the authentication server after installing the new build.

  • When running the installation, ensure that you have Administrator user rights.

  • After completion of the installation, you need to perform configuration of your product, which includes registration on an authentication server. For details, see Configuring Smart Electrical Web API.

  1. Begin the installation by downloading or navigating to the folder with the setup file.

  2. Double-click the file: ELWebApi_Setup.exe.

  3. On the Welcome page, click Start Setup.

  4. On the Details and Features page, enter the following:

    1. Your user name and company details.

You may enter any values that you want for the user name and company name; however, you may not leave these fields blank.

    2. The product serial number.

  5. To configure IIS automatically with the installation, select Configure IIS features and roles.

We highly recommend that you select this option unless you want to perform a custom configuration. If you already configured IIS on your server machine for other software, selecting Configure IIS features and roles will not remove any items you previously installed — it will just add missing roles and features that are required for Smart Electrical Web API.

  6. Under Select Features to Install, in the Install Path field, the default installation path is displayed. To select a different location, click the ellipsis button.

  7. Click Next.

  8. On the License Agreement page, select your country or region from the list to view the license agreement in your language and then select the I agree to the license agreement and conditions check box.

  9. Click Install.

  10. On the Installing page, a progress bar displays the installation process and a list of installed software components is shown.

  11. On the Product Installation Completed page, click Finish.
