Display Sets

You can now create Display Sets for Smart Electrical drawings. Using a display set you can apply a color and line width to specific element in a specific drawing. You can create a Display Set that is unique to the user who created it, or create sets that are available for all Smart Electrical users.

For more information, see Display Sets.

Display Sets Legend

It is now possible to choose to display a legend of the display set applied to a drawing. The legend appears in a floating box when you open the drawing that has a display set applied.

Documentation

All Smart Electrical documentation is now available online on the Hexagon PPM documentation web site. We no longer deliver or install documentation with the software, except for the Readme.

This change to documentation allows us to update our documentation more quickly, giving you a better experience. The documentation web site also allows for searching across all of PPM’s documentation, the creation of personalized books that you can download as PDFs, bookmarking, and more.

To view the On-line documentation, go to Hexagon PPM Documentation (https://docs.hexagonppm.com) You can also use the Help menu or F1 inside the product to launch the online documentation.

The Printable Guides command is no longer available from the Help menu, if you require a PDF of the documentation it is possible to create one from the documentation site. For more information on creating a book for viewing or downloading, see Create, manage, and share personal books.

Copy Driver Power Absorbed

The Copy Driver Power Absorbed menu command and dialog box have been removed from Smart Electrical.

Smart Electrical and Smart Completions

Smart Electrical is fully compatible with Smart Completions.

Smart Completions is an application which drives productivity and improvement during mechanical completions and the commissioning phase of the process plant life cycle.

Integration between Smart Electrical and Smart Completions provides a platform for a digitized, data-driven approach for defining commissioning systems.

An integration command is added to Smart Electrical to communicate with Smart Completions. Executing this command will open a form with Login and Admin tabs that:

  • Authenticates the user access to Smart Completions and retrieves Commissioning System and Commissioning Subsystem values.

  • Allows the Administrator to map properties.

  • Allows the Administrator to modify the address or body of the requests triggered to Smart Completions.

Two new properties - Commissioning System and Commissioning SubSystem, are added to OOTB plant. These will then appear in the Properties window in Smart Electrical.

For more information on Smart Completions, see Working with Smart Completions in Smart Electrical and Welcome to Smart Completions.
