To share a document and its data in an integrated environment with other authoring tools by exporting an XML file containing the document data and relationships. When a document is published, the software places the XML file in the appropriate vault and loads the data from the XML file into the database. After the document is published, users can retrieve the data from the XML file located in the vault into other authoring tools.
In non-integrated environments, like SDx, documents and data cannot be published or retrieved by authoring tools. However, data that was previously published in an integrated environment can be loaded into the database, using Data Validator.
