You can configure SID work steps in the ROP Configuration.xlsm workbook to automatically associate with a component. When the component is added to an IWP, the SID work step is automatically associated and planned in the IWP.

Before configuring SID work steps in the ROP Configuration.xlsm workbook, the SID must be created and configured in SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client. For more information, see Create and configure SIDs in SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client.

  1. Open the ROP Configuration.xlsm workbook. For more information on managing configuration files for Smart Construction, see Manage Template Files for SmartPlant Construction.

  2. Enable the macro content for the workbook.

    1. On the Security Warning bar, click Options.

    2. Select Enable this content on the Microsoft Office Security Options and click OK.

  3. Select a rate table tab to open a rate table worksheet.

SHARED Tip Add a new worksheet to your workbook, if you want to add a new rate table to define work steps.

  4. In the purpose and work step column, define the IWP purpose in the first row below the component class definitions.

  5. Type the sequence number in the second row.

  6. Type the SID name in the third row using the syntax SID:[SID Name].

  7. Type a rate or an X for the SID rate in the purpose and work step column.

When you define the rate as X and the rules of progress are generated, Smart Construction associates the rate defined for the SID in the SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client.

    SID_RoP

  8. Save your changes in the workbook file.

  9. Open the Main tab of the workbook.

  10. Click Generate Configuration File to generate the XML mapping to be used during retrieve.

  11. Verify the XML file generated to the location you specified when you checked out the files.

If generating rules of progress data for the first time, attach the ROP Configuration.xlsm workbook and XML file to the Rules of Progress configuration document in the SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client. For more information, see Attach the ROP Configuration workbook and XML files to the Rules of Progress configuration document.

  12. Check in and sign off the ROP Configuration.xlsm workbook in the SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client. For more information on managing configuration files for Smart Construction, see Manage Template Files for SmartPlant Construction.
