Smart Construction provides the ability for planners to manage constraint requests placed on a component (or a set of components) that must be resolved before the work on that component can be performed. By default, these constraints requests are created on components.
For more information on configuring constraints, see Configure Constraint Management.
Although placing constraint requests on individual components or a set of components better reflects how these requests are actually tracked and managed, if your implementation requires placing constraints at the IWP level, you can enable that functionality through customization. Once enabled, you can add constraints to IWPs and view them in the Work Package Browser.
