Which view do I see when I log in?

When you open the Component Directory browser for the first time, you see the view that was configured by the administrator for the selected group. In each subsequent log in, the Component Directory browser opens to the view that was previously displayed.

What does the number on the name of a new view represent?

The number on the new view is just the next value available in the sequence number. For example, if you create three views – View 01, View 02, and View 03. You delete the View 02, and then click Add View. Then the newly added view name would be View 04.

Can I modify a view created by an administrator?

You can add, remove, and rearrange the columns in the view created by an administrator and the view gets updated with your changes. You can rename a view created by you, but cannot rename the views created by an administrator. However, you cannot rearrange the view tabs.

How do I navigate from a component to its related IWPs, models, BOM status, or drawings?

You should click Actions to view a list of related IWPs, models, and drawings. For example, click Actions > Models > Model name to open the model window. The component is highlighted and zoomed in the model.

Your administrator can also configure a column to display and hyperlink one or more work packages associated with a component.

Which components do I see in the view?

In most cases, you'll see the latest component data, if that data was retrieved into your Smart Construction project.

If you're logged in as a user with SPC_OriginalSpoolView access group then you can also view superseded components when data with fabrication modifications is retrieved into your construction site.

The name of the superseded components are displayed in the list with a suffix of -Superseded and in italics.
