The follow table describes issues that might need to be resolved when adding components to IWPs.

Issue

Explanation

Component category does not match work package discipline.

The discipline of the component does not match the IWP discipline.

Not authorized to plan this component.

The current user does not have the correct user access and security privileges to add the component to an IWP.

Component is already planned in other work packages.

The user is trying to add a component to an IWP that was already added and planned to another IWP.

The CWPs for this component do not match the work package.

The user is trying to add a component of one CWP to an IWP associated with another CWP. The CWP of the IWP and the component should match.

Component has spool already planned for purpose: [Purpose listed here] in work package(s): [Work packages listed here].

A component that is part of a spool is added to an IWP with a specific purpose. You try to add the entire spool, containing the previously packaged component, to another IWP of the same purpose. The component was previously planned for that purpose in the first IWP. The error message lists the IWPs containing the spool.

Spool has component already planned for purpose: [Purpose listed here] in work package(s): [Work packages listed here].

A spool was added to an IWP with a specific purpose. You try to add a component from that spool to another IWP of the same purpose. The spool was previously planned for that purpose in the first IWP. The error message lists the IWPs containing the component.

Component has work steps to be added to the work package.

The component you are trying to add to the IWP has work steps that have not been added to the IWP. Adding the component to the IWP also adds the work steps not yet planned.

The component has been removed from the engineering document.

The component the user is trying to add an IWP has been removed from the engineering document. The component cannot be added or planned.

The component does not have any work steps defined for this purpose.

The component does not have any work steps defined for the IWP purpose, so there are not any work steps to plan in the IWP.

All work steps for this component and purpose have been packaged.

The component has work steps for the IWP purpose; however, all work steps are already planned in a different IWP.

You cannot plan components multiple times. The component has already been planned for a specific purpose, based on modification to the model and correlation type.

If an engineering component has been replaced by a fabrication component, Smart Construction alerts you of the change. You must have the correct security permissions to add the component to an IWP. For more information, see Create and manage role assignments.

This component exists in a drawing that is associated with an unrelated CWP.

The user is trying to add a component contained in a drawing that is related to one CWP to an IWP related to another CWP.
