In the rate table tabs, the tilde (~) is used for looking up values in the generated XML file. Any value preceded with the tilde (~) is considered a lookup value in the rules of progress workbook.

New lookup columns can be created. You can create new lookup columns by creating a new column with the ~ as the first character. The tilde tells the Generation Code that this is a lookup column.

  • You can add a new property definition to the existing ISPC_ComponentItem interface definition, or you can add a property to a custom interface definition. The property definition name must be unique and not match an existing property definition name.

  • When you add a new lookup value to be used for rules of progress, you must verify that the value is mapped in the SPCRetrieveMapping.xlsm workbook. For more information, see Map properties and generate XML for a Smart Construction retrieve.

  • If you add a lookup value that is scoped by double or a unit of measure (UoM) type, you can specify a range for those values. For more information, see Configure the rules of progress in the rules of progress configuration workbook.

  1. Check out and open the ROP Configuration.xlsm workbook.

  2. Open a rate table tab.

  3. Insert a column for the new lookup value.

  4. Add the new lookup value. Lookup values are property definition names, for example, ~SPC_ComponentItem_Size.

For more information on how to find and view property definition details, see Find and view property definition details.

  5. Save the workbook and generate rules of progress data.

  6. Check in and sign off the file in the SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client.

  7. Retrieve documents in Smart Construction.
