  1. Click Work Packages on the project home page.

  2. Select an IWP from the Work Packages browser.

  3. Click Components on the open IWP to view components.

  4. Click Expand or double-click a component name to view associated work steps. You can also double-click a component name to expand.

  5. Select the Complete check box for a component work step to report completion and update the percentage complete and earned man hours for the drawing, component, and work step.

    Type a value in the Complete box to report the amount of UoM completed.

    • You can select one or more components and select the Complete check box to mark all work steps complete.

    • You can type the percentage complete of the work step in the % Complete column for the work step.

    • You can type the quantity complete in the Completed Quantity column for the work step.

    • If work steps associated with different components all have the same name (same spelling and capitalization), you can mark that group of work steps complete at the same time. Select the components, and mark one of the work steps complete. All of the work steps with the same name are marked complete.

  6. Click the Actual Man Hours box.

  7. Type the actual number of man hours required for the work step in the Actual Man Hours box.

  8. Click the Actual Quantity box.

  9. Type the amount of quantity required for the work step in the Actual Quantity box.

  • When a work step is reported as complete, the Actual Quantity is updated with the planned quantity of a work step. Edit the actual quantity to record specific data. Administrators must customize the IWP summary report to include the actual quantity for work steps.

  • When a work step is reported as complete, the Actual Man Hours are updated with the planned man hours of a work step. Edit the actual man hours to record specific data. Administrators must customize the IWP summary report to include the actual man hours for work steps.

  • With the proper security permissions, users can edit the actual man hours for an IWP. Click Edit IWP Actual Man Hours to edit the actual man hours for the IWP. When the option is read-only (), the actual man hours value is the total actual man hours of components in the work IWP. When you edit the actual man hours (), the value is what you enter in the Actual Man Hours box.

  • If progress has been reported for a component or a work step, man hours and other details for the component or the work step cannot be modified.

  • You can enable the Actual Date Complete column in the Components window. As you report completion for components, you can enter a date for the completed component.

  • As you mark components complete, the Completed Man Hours updates for the IWP Components window.

  • You can use the Smart Construction OnSite mobile app to reference work steps, view drawings, and track progress for installation work packages (IWPs).
