You can create a Custom Report object in the SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client.

  1. In the SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client, click Smart Construction > New > Administration > Custom Report to open the New Custom Report dialog box.

  2. Type a name and description in the New Custom Report dialog box.

  3. Type a value for the Report Definition UID. To find the UID, complete the following steps:

    1. Right-click the new Adhoc Report in the New Items Window and select History to open the History dialog box.

    2. Select the option to Show tree.

    3. Select the tree node labeled Object under the Interfaces node. The UID value is available.

    4. Copy the UID.

  4. Type a name for the Report Template Name.

    • The report template name is the name of your Telerik Report template without the file extension.

    • The class name of your report driver and the name of your report template must be same.

  5. Type a value for the Target Interface Def UID if the custom report is to be run from a specific object context. Specify if the report is to be run on the Reports window or the IWP Reports window.

  6. Type a value in the Output Format box.

    • Supported formats include Excel, PDF, Word, RTF, and CSV.

    • The Report Options dialog box in the Smart Construction client displays the same order of outputs you specify in the Output Format box.

    • You can choose to have a single output format or multiple formats. If you choose to have multiple formats, separate the list with a common separator (comma, semicolon, or a space).

    • If you do not specify an output format value, the report automatically generates a PDF.

    • If multiple formats are specified, the user can choose a preferred format in the Smart Construction client application.

  7. Select the ISPC_Securable option if the new object is a securable item, managed by the SmartPlant Foundation security model.

  8. Type a display label for the report in the Workspace item displayas box.

  9. Type a tooltip for the report in the Workspace item tooltip box.

  10. Specify a sequence for the new report object in the Workspace item sequence box.

  11. Click Finish.
