This topic deals with the product licenses and named user ratio for an estate. There are two different license models under which you can purchase licenses:

  • Concurrent User Licensing model - specifies the number of concurrent user licenses that have been purchased by a customer. Under the concurrent user license model the named user ratio differs for different products depending on the Pricing Policy document.

This field is read-only and the information in this field is populated from Intergraph Smart Licensing (ISL).

  • Named User Licensing model - specifies the maximum number of authorized users a customer can setup to use a product. Under the named user licensing model the named user ratio is always 1:1.

Licensed Named User Ratio - specifies the number of named users that can use a product concurrently. The default values for different products depend on the Pricing Policy document. For example, for S3D the ratio is 1:5, so for every Concurrent User license that is purchased, the customer should be able to create 5 Named Users via the NUL process in the portal. If they purchase 10 Concurrent User licenses, then they should be able to configure up to (10x5) 50 Named Users via NUL to use that product.

The maximum number of users that can be onboarded to an estate can be calculated as Licensed Named User Ratio * Number of user licenses purchased.

Example 1 - Concurrent User Licensing model: for S3D the ratio is 1:5, so for every concurrent user license that is purchased, the customer should be able to create 5 Named Users via the NUL process in the portal. If they purchase 10 Concurrent User licenses, then they should be able to configure up to (10x5) 50 Named Users via NUL to use that product.

Example 2 - Named User Licensing model: The Named User Ratio for named user licensing model is always 1:1 and if the number of licenses purchased is 2, then the number of users that can be onboarded is 2 * 1 = 2

  3. What happens if the number of users on-boarded to Smart Cloud have reached the named user ratio threshold?

You will not be able to onboard the user and the application displays the following alert message:

Requested Named User cannot be on-boarded as it exceeds the maximum permissible limit (Named User Ratio Count). Contact the Smart Cloud Service Desk for further assistance.

To maintain the Named User Ratio, before on-boarding new users, the Customer Administrator must place a delete request.
