Smart API Manager Version
5.0

Smart API Manager uses a database to store information and usage data. Only one database instance is required, regardless of the number of Smart API Manager installations in your environment. For environments that require multiple domains, such as estates in SmartPlant Cloud, the database is partitioned so that the information and usage data for each instance of Smart API Manager are stored, managed, and accessed separately.

Smart API Manager supports the following databases:

  • Microsoft SQL Azure

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2019, in any of these editions:

    • Enterprise

    • Standard

    • Express

    • Express with the LocalDB option (included in the Smart API Manager installation)

      • If version 2016 or later of Microsoft SQL Server Express with the LocalDB option is already installed, version 2019 is not installed and Smart API Manager will use the installed version.

      • We include SQL Server Express with LocalDB to make first-time set up and configuration easier, especially for developers, Quality Assurance, and User Acceptance Testing environments. However, for production environments we strongly recommend that you use one of the other supported enterprise databases instead.

  • Oracle 19c, Standard or Enterprise Edition

    • Oracle ODP.NET (version 19c included in the Smart API Manager installation)

  • Amazon Relational Database Service for:

    • SQL Server

    • Oracle

Please refer to the documentation for your chosen database for the information and instructions necessary for database installation, configuration, set up, and management.
