Displays properties for pipe bolt sets. A pipe bolt set is a collection of bolts, nuts, and washers needed to connect two pipes.

The order in which the properties display in your view depends on your configuration.

Approval State

Specifies the status of the selected object or filter. Changing this property sets the Status. The display depends on your access level. You might be unable to change the status of the object. The list is defined by the ApprovalStatus codelist.

Smart 3Dx saves an object to the database when you change that object's status. Use Undo (CTRL + Z) to reverse the status change.

You can only edit or manipulate an object with a status of Working.

Bolt Option

Specifies the bolt type. Valid codes are listed in the AllCodeLists.xls workbook on the BoltOption sheet in the Codelist Number column.

Bolt Quantity

Specifies the number of bolts required for the pipe bolt set.

Bolt Reporting Requirement

Specifies the reporting requirement for the object. To change the options on the list, edit the Reporting Type select list in Catalog.

Calculated Length

Specifies the calculated length of the bolt set. The software calculates the bolt set length based on the bolt set weight and diameter. By default, the bolt length calculations are enabled.

Created by

Specifies the name of the person who created the object.

Date Created

Specifies the creation date of the object.

Date Last Modified

Specifies the date of the last modification to the object.

Diameter

Specifies the diameter of the object.

Diameter CONCEPT

Fabrication Requirement

Specifies the fabrication requirement for the object. To change the options on the list, edit the Fabrication Type select list in Catalog.

Rule Driven

Specifies that a rule drives the value. This is the default option. Click to switch to User Driven .

User Driven

Allows you to select a value. Click to switch to Rule Driven .

Hyperlink

Specifies the URL or local file path associated with the object. Click the hyperlink to open the page or object in your default browser. Point to the hyperlink to display the URL or path as a tooltip.

Description

Specifies the descriptive text associated with the hyperlink.

URL

Specifies the web address or local file name associated with the hyperlink. The URL must include the protocol, such as http: or https:, as well as the domain name. For example, https://hexagonppm.com/.

Last Modified by

Specifies the name of the person who last modified the object.

Length

Specifies the rounded-off value of Calculated Length. The software rounds off the calculated lengths based on Round-off Basis.

Nut Option

Specifies the nut type. Valid codes are listed in the AllCodeLists.xls workbook on the NutOption sheet in the Codelist Number column. By default, the software does not create nuts at a bolted joint.

Nut Quantity

Specifies the number of nuts associated with the pipe bolt set.

Nut Reporting Requirement

Specifies the reporting requirement for the object. To change the options on the list, edit the Reporting Type select list in Catalog.

Nut Sized Commodity Code

Specifies the sized commodity code for the selected nut. The commodity code varies based on the nut dimensions. This option is available only if the bolted joint has nuts.

Round-off Basis

Specifies the basis for the bolt length round-off calculation. The following are valid codes listed in the AllCodeLists.xls workbook on the BoltLengthRoundOffBasis sheet in the Codelist Number column.

  • (5) None - Indicates that the software does not round-off the calculated length.

  • (10) Use bolt length round-off value - Indicates that the software rounds-off the calculated length based on the Stud Bolt Length Round Off Value, Machine Bolt Length Round Off Value, and Cap Screw Length Round Off Value. These values are available in the Catalog task, Piping > Piping Specification > Model Options.

  • (15) Use list of preferred bolt lengths - Indicates that the software displays a preferred list of bolt lengths based on the calculated length.

  • (20) Use bolt length from lookup - Indicates that the software displays the bolt lengths as defined in the BoltLengthLookupRule.

To use this property, bulkload the Sample Data for BoltLengthLookupRule.xls file in append mode. Sample data for BoltLengthLookupRule.xls is available on the customer support web site.

Sized Commodity Code

Specifies the commodity code for the selected bolt set. This commodity code varies based on the bolt length and diameter. To use this property, bulkload the Bolt Commodity Code Substitution.xls workbook in append mode. The Bolt Commodity Code Substitution.xls workbook is available on the customer support web site. Washer Option

Specifies the washer type. Valid codes are listed in the AllCodeLists.xls work book on the WasherOption sheet in the Codelist Number column. By default, the software does not create washers at a bolted joint.

Washer Quantity

Specifies the number of washers associated with the pipe bolt set.

Specifies the reporting requirement for the object. To change the options on the list, edit the Reporting Type select list in Catalog.

Washer Sized Commodity Code

Specifies the commodity code for the selected washer. This commodity code varies based on bolt diameter. This option is available only if the bolted joint has washers.
