Meaning: One of the boundaries for an opening or slab is missing, causing the outline geometry to fail because it is an open contour.

Recovery: Edit the opening or slab, and check the defined boundaries. After you determine which boundary is missing, redefine that boundary by selecting an object in the model to serve as the new boundary. In the example below, a beam that was a boundary was deleted and needed to be remodeled and defined as a boundary.

For a slab:

  1. Open the Structure task.

  2. Click Select .

  3. Set the Locate Filter to Slabs.

  4. Select the slab.

  5. Select Define Boundaries on the ribbon.

  6. Redefine the boundaries of the slab.

  7. Click Finish.

For an opening:

  1. Open the Structure task.

  2. Click Select .

  3. Set the Locate Filter to Openings.

  4. Select the opening.

  5. Select Boundary on the ribbon.

  6. Redefine the boundaries of the opening.

  7. Click Finish.
