Displays when you select the Ladder Command on the Structural Tab.
Traffic Items
Select the traffic item to place.
Places stairs in the model.
Places a ladder in the model.
Places a handrail in the model following a path that you specify.
Places a handrail that is associated with a member part's frame connections.
General
Catalog Part
Specifies the identifier (such as a part number or class) associated with the object to place. Recently used items are available in the list.
Browse Catalog
Displays the catalog associated with your model. Move through the hierarchy to find the objects you need or type the name of the object in the Search box. See Select from Catalog Dialog.
Parent System
Specifies the parent system for the object. Recently used systems that are appropriate to assign as the parent system for this object display in the list along with the Select from Workspace and Select from Model options. The most recently used system displays at the top.
The parent system of the object must have an Approval Status of Working before you can change the Parent System value. If the Approval Status of the parent system is not set to Working, this value is read-only.
Select Interactively
Turns on or off the interactive selection. When this option is on, you can select the parent object in a graphic view or any of the explorers.
Select from Workspace
Displays the Select Parent System Dialog with the Workspace tab open. The workspace is the subset of the active model database you specified when you started your design session. Navigate the hierarchy to select the parent system, and then select OK.
Select from Model
Displays the Select Parent System Dialog with the Model tab open. The model is all the objects in the active model database, including those that are not part of your workspace. Navigate the hierarchy to select the parent system, and then select OK.
Name
Specifies the name of the selected object. If the name is too long to entirely display in the box, point to the box to display the complete name as a tool tip. If the name is not defined by a rule, User Defined displays. If this name is generated by a naming rule, TagName Rule displays. If you enter a name in this box, Smart 3Dx automatically changes the naming rule to User Defined.
Width
Specifies the inside width of the ladder rungs. This dimension does not include the width of the side frames or safety hoop and therefore is less than the overall width of the ladder.
Angle
Specifies the angle of inclination between the bottom support and the side frame of the ladder. This angle is the slope of the ladder.
Pitch
Specifies the maximum allowable vertical distance between the ladder rungs.
Horizontal Offset
Specifies the distance the ladder is placed from the selected reference edge along the specified top edge.
Vertical Offset
Specifies the offset between the top of the ladder and the selected top edge. This distance is in addition to the defined Top Extension distance.
Side
Places the ladder on the opposite side of the top edge.
Top Constraint
Select the reference plane or edge that defines the top elevation of the ladder. The ladder is placed on the To Do List if this edge is deleted after the ladder has been placed. You can select:
-
A Smart 3Dx object.
-
The edge or surface of a Smart 3Dx object.
-
The edge or surface of a Smart Interop Object.
Bottom Constraint
Select the reference plane that defines the bottom elevation of the ladder. This plane must be lower than the top edge that you selected. The reference plane can be flat or sloped up to 45 degrees. The ladder is placed on the To Do List if this plane is deleted after the ladder has been placed.
Edge Constraint
Select a plane or edge from which to place the ladder along the top edge. This input is optional. You can select:
-
A Smart 3Dx object.
-
The edge or surface of a Smart 3Dx object.
-
The edge or surface of a Smart Interop Object.
Position
Move
Moves the selected object.
Move From Position (Ctrl + T)
Specifies the point from which to start the move.
Move To Position (T)
Specifies the point at which to finish the move.
No Constraint (CTRL + 6)
Objects are free to move in any direction.
East
Y-axis and Z-axis coordinates are locked. Object moves freely along the X-axis.
North
X-axis and Z-axis coordinates are locked. Object moves freely along the Y-axis.
Elevation
X-axis and Y-axis coordinates are locked. Object moves freely along the Z-axis.
Elevation Plane (CTRL + 1)
Z-axis coordinate is locked. Object moves freely in the X-Y coordinate plane.
East-West Plane (CTRL + 3)
X-axis coordinate is locked. Object moves freely in the Y-Z coordinate plane.
North-South Plane (CTRL + 2)
Y-axis coordinate is locked. Object moves freely in the X-Z coordinate plane.
Completion
Cancel (ESC)
Cancels all changes and exits the command.
Finish (CTRL + ENTER)
Saves all changes and exits the command.
Finish and Modify (CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER)
Saves all changes, and then selects the objects for modification.
Finish and Repeat (SHIFT + ENTER)
Saves all changes, and then restarts the command.
