  1. Optionally, if you have a rotated local coordinate system, select Precision Input Precision Input ICON. Then select the coordinate system to use.

  2. Fit, Pan, and Zoom your graphic view to display the required sections of the model.

  3. Select Clip By Volume Command (CTRL+B) on the View Manipulation Toolbar or from the View Tab.

    The clip volume wireframe defaults to the graphic view.

  4. Select a handle (indicated by a clipping-volume corner-sphere or a plane-indicator arrow) to select the handle. Move your mouse and select the new location to resize the clipping volume.

  5. When the clipping volume is at the required size and location, select Close Close to accept the clipping and return to the modeling mode.

    Smart 3Dx removes all objects that are not in the clip volume wireframe.
