Upgrading the Services Computers - Intergraph Smart 3D Web API - Installation & Upgrade - Hexagon PPM

Perform this procedure on each computer running Intergraph Smart 3D Services.

Uninstall and reinstall the API

1. Uninstall the web API from your computer.

   The C:\Program Files\Smart3D\WebApi\Services\Bin64\S3DRuntime.config file remains on the computer. Do not delete this file if you intend for the API configuration to remain the same.

2. Uninstall Intergraph Smart 3D if you are upgrading it.

3. Install the updated version of Intergraph Smart 3D if needed.

4. Install the new web API version.

Start the configuration process

Use the Smart 3D Web API Configuration Tool to start the Service Manager and make any needed configuration changes.

If you upgraded to a new version of Intergraph Smart 3D or the metadata of one or more of the plants has changed, you must update the Web API metadata. You only need to do this update on one computer.

1. Click Start > Intergraph Smart 3D > WebAPI Configuration Tool.

2. Select Configure Smart 3D Data, and click Next.

3. On the Smart 3D Service Manager page, define the user name and password to start the service.

4. On the Sites page, click Next.

Regenerate metadata, if necessary

If the version of Intergraph Smart 3D has changed or if your metadata has changed, select each row that has an enabled plant listed with a warning sign.

1. Click Regenerate Metadata.

   

Change the number of processes running, if necessary

1. If needed, change the number of Smart 3D Web Service processes running per plant.

2. Click Next.

3. Verify your configuration summary, and then click Finish to complete the upgrade.
