Exposing a plant sets it as enabled and extracts metadata from the plant schema for use in constructing the API EDM.

Use the Configuration Utility's Enable Plants page to select which plants within the site are exposed through the API.

How do I get to this page?

For the Smart 3D Web API Configuration Utility, the Enable Plants page appears when you are configuring the service for the Smart 3D Web API, after you click Next on the Configuration Utility's Sites page.

  1. To expose a plant, select it and click Enable Selected Plants .

  2. To stop exposing a plant, select it and click Disable Selected Plants ICON Disable Plants.

  3. Click Next, and continue with Configure local instances of the Smart 3D web API service.

Troubleshooting problems with the API EDM

If changes are made to a plant after it is enabled, you must return to this page to correct the API EDM, as follows:

  • Plant metadata is changed - Select the plant and click Regenerate Metadata ICON Regenerate.

  • Plant is removed from the Smart3D site - Select the plant and click Disable Selected Plants ICON Disable Plants.

  • Plant's database is deleted - Select the plant and click Disable Selected Plants ICON Disable Plants.

SHARED Tip If a plant is removed from the Smart3D site or its database deleted, an error icon appears in the Web API Enabled column. For example:
