Controls parameters for exporting DSTV and manufacturing XML data for assemblies.

Configuration File

Displays the path and file name for the current configuration file. This configuration file drives the managed export process. This is a required field for all types of managed exports. For managed exports for DTSV, Smart Production, and SMS_SCHEMA, the software provides a default configuration file. For neutral managed exports, you must specify the configuration file. Click Browse next to the Configuration File box to navigate to the configuration file.

Export Type

Displays the type of data that you are exporting. The list contains options as defined in the configuration file. You can use this option to organize your export by type of data (plates, profiles, panels, templates, and so on), by location (host location or satellite location), or any other category that you require.

Extraction Filter

Filters the entities that display in the Managed Export window. Use the check boxes to include or exclude items. For example, you could exclude closed items from the list to reduce the number of items displayed.

Add Row

Adds a blank row to the bottom of the Entities list. You can select new entities to be exported in this row.

Entities

Displays information about previously exported assemblies.

Process

Indicates whether the block is exported. Select the option to add the block to the export. Clear the option to avoid exporting the block.

Update

Runs the Manufacturing Service Manager update so that manufacturing objects are up-to-date under the assemblies.

If you select the Update box, the Managed Export process performs an out-of-date validation on the manufacturing objects based on Manufacturing Service Manager. When the manufacturing objects are out-of-date, an update is triggered before Smart 3D exports its latest output. This is to avoid exporting data that is out-of-date relative to the modeling status. Control the setting based on your workflow process.

Extraction

Creates output. The available extraction types are listed below.

New

An assembly that has not been exported.

Partial

A sub-assembly in a larger reference assembly that has been exported.

Full

Reference assemblies that contain sub-assemblies. You can extract partial exports of sub-assemblies, or a complete export of the reference assembly.

Closed

Removes the row from the Managed Export window. You use this option when an assembly export is complete.

Reference Assembly

Displays the name of the parent block or assembly. This entity controls the alignment between the Smart 3D assembly and third-party modules. Reference Assembly enables you to track parts related to a block or an assembly in the model database.

The software generates output documents based on the configuration setting, which defines object filtering and the output document. If a reference assembly contains too many objects to extract, the software extracts the package into sub-modules. The resulting reference assembly is a parent of the selected assembly. The software manages exports based on the reference assembly. The extraction status displays Partial or Full depending on whether the extraction completes. When you export all of the assemblies under Reference Assembly, the software automatically merges all of the exported rows into one reference assembly.

Define the reference assembly type by customizing the S3DAssemblyReference attribute in the configuration XML file. Otherwise, the software sets the reference assembly type to Block. The software also transverses the selected assembly hierarchy and selects the first parent assembly or block with the same assembly type defined by the S3DAssemblyReference attribute. See Configure Managed Export in the Structural Manufacturing Reference Data Help.

Assembly

Displays the name of the assembly that the software is processing.

Versioning

Displays the version of the export for the block.

For each export instance reported in the revision log, one of three revision statements can display: Creation, Modification, or Deletion. When you change the name of an entity (plate/profile part) after export, the subsequent export process creates new output, creates a new .xml file, and deletes the previous .xml file. However, in these cases the revision log entry displays Modification even though new output is created.

Status

Displays the status of the output.

Output Location

Displays the path and filename of the export .xml file.

Export

Starts the export process based on the selected configuration file.
