Defines properties associated with the point cloud model type that you are referencing.

Model Type

Indicates the point cloud model type used to create a referenced model. For CloudWorx, Cyclone, JetStream, CyEnterprise, and LFM Software Ltd model types display.

Server Name

Specifies the server name used to establish the connection for the point cloud model type. This is applicable for JetStream and CyEnterprise model types only.

  • For CyEnterprise model types, specify the server name along with the port number through which the link to the server can be established. The format is <Server name>:<Port number>. If no port number is defined, the software uses the default port number 5050 to establish a connection with the server. You can change the port number, if required.

  • The default port for JetStream server is 9090.

Model Source

Specifies the path or location of the point cloud model. Based on the point cloud model type, the appropriate point cloud specific dialog box displays. For JetStream models, the Open JetStream Enterprise Project and Select JetStream Project dialogs display. For Cyclone models, the Open Cyclone CORE ModelSpace View and Select ModelSpace View dialogs display. For CyEnterprise models, the Cyclone Enterprise and Open Cyclone ENTERPRISE Point Cloud dialogs display. For LFM models, the Choose a file dialog displays. You can select either JetStream projects or model space views or cyclone enterprise-based files or LFM based files from the respective dialogs.

In the Open Cyclone CORE ModelSpace View, Open JetStream Enterprise Project, and Open Cyclone ENTERPRISE Point Cloud dialogs, the Coordinate Systems in Point Source list enables you to use the point cloud coordinates systems available on the project. The software reflects the selected coordinate system values in the point cloud model transformation fields on the Point Cloud Model Reference dialog. The Coordinate Systems in Viewport, Distance Units, and Number of units per meter options are in disabled mode. Hence you cannot use these options while referencing the point cloud models.

Model Name

Specifies the point cloud model name. This is a read-only field.

Description

Specifies a description of the point cloud model.

Interference Detection

Indicates whether the point cloud model type participates in interference detection. This field is enabled only at the Host location.

Only one model at a time can participate in the Interference Detection process. Point cloud models that contain large amounts of data take a significant amount of time for interference checking to process. For better performance, do not include the point cloud models that contain large amounts of data in interference detection.

Reference Point

Specifies easting, northing, and elevation of a point in the source reference point cloud model relative to the global coordinate system origin (0, 0, 0) of the active model. This point could be considered as the origin or anchor point of the reference model used to position and orient the reference model in the active model coordinate space. The easting, northing, and elevation of the reference point can be specified in any of the supported units.

Easting

Specifies the easting coordinate to position the reference point cloud model.

Northing

Specifies the northing coordinate to position the reference point cloud model.

Elevation

Specifies the elevation coordinate to position the reference point cloud model.

Units

Specifies the units of measure for calculating the move. You can select the units of measure from the list. The default is meters (m).

Selection of the distance unit is temporary. It is used for the current positioning only, and it is not stored in the database or any session defaults. If you select units other than the default (m), be sure to select the same units for subsequent modification to obtain correct results.

Point Cloud Model Transformation

Specifies the rotation angles, scale factor, and move vector that the software uses in the transformation. These values are related to the global coordinate system. If the point cloud model type does not support point cloud transformation and rotation, the software deactivates options related to transformation and rotation.

Rotation

Rotates the reference point cloud model. Rotation is calculated around the origin of the attached point cloud model (reference point). The software measures rotation in the clockwise direction from the North axis.

East Angle (deg)

Specifies the angle in degrees to rotate the reference point cloud model about the east axis of the active model.

North Angle (deg)

Specifies the angle in degrees to rotate the reference point cloud model about the north axis of the active model.

Up Angle (deg)

Specifies the angle in degrees to rotate the reference point cloud model about the up axis of the active model.

Target Point

Specifies the position of the reference point cloud model.

Easting

Specifies the distance east to position the reference point cloud model.

Northing

Specifies the distance north to position the reference point cloud model.

Elevation

Specifies the up distance to position the reference point cloud model.

Units

Specifies the units of measure for calculating the move. You can select the units of measure from the list. The default is meters (m).

  • You can register (attach) the point cloud models at the Satellite location. The software replicates the properties related to the point cloud model in the database from the Host to Satellite location. Except for the Server Name, the software replicates all of the properties related to the point cloud model on the Host and Satellite locations. At Satellite location, you can modify or update all of the information related to point clouds except for Interference Detection.

  • From Satellite location, if you want to work with a JetStream model type that is attached at Host location, then you must specify a Server that contains the respective model type at Satellite location. The software does not replicate the Server name between the Host and Satellite locations. You must specify the Server name as and when required at the respective locations.

  • Copy the files to the Satellite location to synchronize the point cloud data. Verify that the point cloud software and other related software are installed at the Host and Satellite locations.

  • Specify a complete path for the folder. The software does not accept relative paths such as [Reference Data Folder]\SharedContent.

  • Except Server Name and Description, all the properties related to point cloud models is disabled at Satellite location for the model attached at Host location and vice versa.

  • You cannot delete a point cloud model that is registered at the Host from the Satellite location. Likewise, you cannot delete a point cloud model that is registered at the Satellite location from the Host location.
