  1. Click Split Planning Joint to display the Split Planning Joint Ribbon.

  2. Click Select planning joints to split , and, using the Workspace Explorer, select one or more planning joints to split.

  3. Click Select splitting objects to select one or more cutting objects to be used as a reference for the split.

    SHARED Tip Potential cutting objects include reference planes, other planar objects, and edge features.

  4. Define the offset method and type a distance of offset for the split location.

    SHARED Tip A preview in a graphical window indicates if an appropriate offset has been chosen.

  5. Click Finish to commit the split to the database.

If you delete a split planning joint, the software also deletes all planning joints on that physical connection.
