This procedure applies to a new or an existing assembly or assembly block.

  1. Click Manufacturing Orientation  on the New (Block) Assembly Ribbon .

  2. Select User Defined in the Orientation Method box.

  3. Specify the plane for the manufacturing orientation baseplate using one of the following methods:

    Define a coincident plane

    Define an offset plane

Define a plane using an angle from another plane

Define a plane using a point and a normal vector

Define a plane using three points

Define a plane by a normal vector from another plane

A graphic of the x-y plane and the z up-vector direction displays in the graphic view.

  4. If needed, click Edit manufacturing orientation to toggle the direction of the z' up-vector.

  5. If needed, type values for X Rotation, Y Rotation, or Z Rotation to rotate the base plate about each coordinate system axis.

  6. Click Finish.
