When setting up block assignment to run in batch mode, the following exceptions apply for defining options on the Block Assignment Dialog:

  • The batch process considers only objects from the database and ignores the Workspace option if it is selected.

  • The interactive block assignment process can run indefinitely using Resume automatic query with the Run Continuously option. However, a batch job only runs for a specific period of time. Submission to Batch Job is not available when Run Continuously is selected. Instead, you define the From Time and the To Time.

  • A batch job takes Number of grace minutes as 1 regardless of the value that you type.

  • The Run In Background option is not relevant to a batch job and is ignored if it is selected.

  1. Click Tools > Block Assignment to display the Block Assignment Dialog.

  2. On the General tab, use the Part selection box to specify how you want the parts processed: By Time, By Block, or By Filter.

    By Time

Sset the Query range option as User-defined query range and type the start date and time and the end date and time in the appropriate fields.

    By Block

Click in the Block box and navigate to the appropriate block.

    By Filter

Click in the Filter box and navigate to the appropriate filter.

  3. Click Submit Job.

  4. Complete the Schedule Block Assignment dialog to configure batch processing, and then click OK.

The software displays the message, "This job has been scheduled to run on the chosen server."

  5. Click OK to dismiss the message, and then click Close.

To start and stop the block assignment process, you must have read and write permissions to the Model database. For more information about access permissions, see your Smart 3D administrator.
