Open the Symbol Editor software.

Right-click a component type in the Library Explorer, and select New Symbol to open the New Symbol dialog.

Specify options for the new symbol:
Use the Original SKEY list to specify the standard symbol on which the new symbol is to be based.
Select the Copy Symbol from box and keep the Library option selected.
Use the Spindle SKEY list to specify the required spindle. For example, select the 01SP spindle.

Click OK.

Modify the symbol as necessary.

Use the commands on the Symbol menu to modify the symbol shape or add tapping points.

Click in the Edit window and use the commands on the toolbar and the Symbol menu to draw additional lines for the symbol. Click Undo to correct any mistakes. Right-click to stop drawing lines.

Click File > Export ISOGEN Symbols, and save the symbol file in .asc format. ASCII (.asc) format is recommended for the creation and maintenance of all Alias symbols. Binary (.bin) format symbol files may not be portable to future software releases.

Click File > Exit to close the editor.

Open Smart 3D, and switch to Drawings and Reports.

Right-click an Isogen Isometric Drawing component or package, and select Edit Options to open Isogen Configuration.

On the Home screen, select Input Files in the Drawing Manager category tile.
The software switches to the Configuration View and displays the Input Files option groups in the Options panel.

Expand Summary, and then click Show
to open the Input Files data grid

Select ASCII-SYMBOLS in the Type list.

Click the ellipsis button in the Path box, and then browse to the symbols library file (.asc file) you created. If necessary, select All Files (*.*) in the Files of type field.

Click
to update the isometric style file with the new settings.

Extract an isometric drawing to view the property settings.
