You can redefine certain hard-coded text strings in the PCF, which then display on the piping isometric drawing. The following how-to topic shows how to use AText to change direction values to Cartesian values.

In the example isometric output, the value in the valve operator orientation message is calculated by Smart 3D and then written to the PCF.

  1. Open Isogen Configuration, and navigate to Smart 3D.Content.Alternative Texts.

  2. Click Show Collapse ICP to display the Smart 3D Alternative Texts grid.

  3. Add N_Default, S_Default, E_Default, and W_Default in the Text Purpose column.

  4. In the Alternate Text column, type the respective AText value for each to replace direction strings with equivalent Cartesian values.

  5. Click Save to update the isometric style file with the new isometric drawing option settings, and then exit Isogen Configuration.

  6. Update the drawing and review the isometric output using the View Extraction Data Command. The default strings are replaced by the user-specified text strings on the drawing and in the PCF.
