Part Placement

To place a sample constant load column SmartPart delivered with the catalog:

  1. Click Tasks > Hangers and Supports.

  2. Place a design support on a pipe.

  3. Click Place Part , and then select the design support.

  4. In the Select Part dialog box, select a part from Parts > SmartParts > S3D Standard > Constant > Constant Load Column as shown below:

Part Properties

Millimeters (mm) is the default unit. Use in at the end of dimensional values to specify inches. Ports are shown as points highlighted in red .

Constant Part Properties

IJUAhsLoad::Load

Specifies the load of the load column. The load value must be greater than or equal to zero. This value is required.

IJUAhsMovement::Movement

Specifies the movement of the load column. This value is required.

IJUAhsMovementDir::MovementDirection

Specifies the direction of movement for the load column. Accepted values are Up and Down. This property uses the codelist value defined in the hsSpringMovementDir sheet of the HS_S3DParts_Codelist.xls workbook.

Port Details

These properties specify the different port types and their sizes for the constant load column.

Hole 1 - Hole1

The hole ports are aligned so that they easily connect to the pipe. The X axis of the route port is aligned along the length of the insulation, and the Z axis is pointing in the downward direction.
