These properties are used to specify different orientations of the clamp graphic, the port positions and their orientations.

IJUAhsClampCfg::ClampCfg

Enter the codelist number for the configuration to use as defined in the hsClampCfg sheet in the HS_S3DParts_Codelist.xls workbook.

In general, Pipe Clamp Hangers that are bolted to Structural Members uses Clamp configuration 1. For this configuration, the Assembly Information Rule (AIR) calculates the offset of the top bolt port by using formula ½ x Gap1 + Thickness1

Available configurations:

  • 1 - Rod Hanger

  • 2 - Side Mounted

    • On shoe or post

    • Hanging with lug, clevis, hole

    • Threaded

  • 3 - Side Mounted-Two Side Ports

    • Angled

    • Straight

  • 4 - Direct Bolted

  • 5 - Riser Rod Hanger

  • 6 - Riser on Structure

    • Socket Clamp

    • Underground Clamp

  • 7 - Offset Pipe Clamp

IJUAhsAngle3::Angle3

The purpose of Angle3 depends on ClampCfg.

  • For ClampCfg 1 and 5, Angle3 rotates the clamp route port about its x-axis.

  • For ClampCfg 2 and 3, Angle3 rotates the clamp from horizontal.

  • A positive Angle3 rotates the clamp body counter-clockwise when looking along the positive X direction of the pipe port. Negative Angle3 rotates the clamp body clockwise.

  • The rotation is actually achieved by rotating the orientation of the pipe port in the opposite direction by Angle3.

IJUAhsWidth3::Width3

The purpose of Width3 depends on ClampCfg.

  • For ClampCfg 2 (side mounted), Width3 specifies the outside width of the post or shoe that the clamp rests on. If this value is set, the ClampSide port is retracted so that the post or shoe can be connected directly to the port, and its edges are matched up with the curved face of the clamp. If both Height3 and Width3 are set, Height3 is used to set the port location.

  • For ClampCfg 3 (side mounted, two ports), if Width3 is specified, the ports are located on the side of the clamp. They are separated by the specified width, with orthogonal ports orientated as shown. Width3 must be less than the outside diameter of the clamp body (that is, less than Diameter1 + 2 x Thickness1). If both Width3 and Angle2 are specified, Width3 can be used.

  • For ClampCfg 4 (direct bolted), the ports are separated by Width3, and centered in the clamp body.

  • For ClampCfg 6 (riser on struct), the bottom ports are separated by Width3.

  • For ClampCfg 7 (offset pipe clamp), Width3 sets the overall width of the wings. If it is zero, unspecified, or less than Height1 plus Height2, the wings are not drawn.

IJUAhsHeight3::Height3

The purpose of Height3 depends on ClampCfg.

  • For ClampCfg 2 (side mounted), Height3 specifies the distance from the side of the clamp to the ClampSide port. If both Height3 and Width3 are set, Height3 can be used.

  • For ClampCfg 4 (direct bolted), Height3 specifies the amount to offset the ports from the pipe centerline. A positive offset is in the z-direction of the port. Positive, zero, and negative values are allowed. A negative value is more commonly used.

IJOAHgrOccLength::Length Or IJUAhsLength::Length

This property is used only for ClampCfg 7 (offset pipe clamp).

  • IJOAHgrOccLength specifies the variable length.

  • IJUAhsLength specifies the variable length.
