Port Details - Intergraph Smart 3D - Reference Data - Hexagon PPM

These properties specify the different port types and their sizes for the beam clamp.

Beam Clamp Ports

A beam clamp can have the following ports.

1. Structure port (this is the origin of the beam clip)

2. Bottom port

3. Top port

4. RodEnd1 port

5. RodEnd2 port (If a second clip shape is present)

6. RodEnd port (if two clips and a shape are present)

If the beam clamp has one beam clip shape then, there will be four ports: Top, Bottom, Structure, and BoltPort1. In the graphic shown below, both the beam clamps have only one beam clip with external bolt. For such beam clamps only four ports are added.

If the beam clamp has two beam clip shapes then, there will be five ports: Top, Bottom, Structure, RodEnd1 and RodEnd2. The RodEnd1 will be assigned to left clip and RodEnd2 will be assigned to right clip. Graphic below is an instance where the beam clamp has right clip, left clip, bottom shape, and two external bolts on each beam clip. RodEnd1 will be on left clip and RodEnd2 will be on right clip.

RodEnd2 Port

RodEnd2 has port orientation similar to that of RodEnd1 but it is on the right clip.
