Before working with drawings and reports reference data, you must be familiar with how the software handles reference data in general. If you have not already done so, read and understand the following important concepts and procedures described in Intergraph Smart 3D Reference Data:

  • Custom attributes

  • Symbol creation

  • Codelists (also referred to as "select lists")

  • Naming rules

  • Bulkloading

In Drawings and Reports, the reference data contains the input data for multiple drawing types, or you can configure different inputs for each type of drawing. The customizable reference data includes the following:

  • View styles (orthographic and key plan) and view style rules

  • Packages

  • Labels, symbols, and dimensions

Other customizable elements that are common to all drawings include the following:

  • Lines styles

  • Naming rules

  • Layout styles

The software delivers reference data to the [Program Folder]\SharedContent folder.

Reference data determines the values that populate the various dialog boxes in Drawings and Reports. For example, the reference data for Drawings and Reports populates the properties for labels, dimensions, and other annotations. You can edit the specific values for the different modules that make up a particular label, dimension, annotation, matchline, and north arrow.
