Reassigns the selected objects back to as-built for a WBS project and back to initial state for an As-Built project so that another project can claim them.

You claim objects to the active project for the purpose of editing or modifying the objects. Sometimes you need to release a claim on an object. For example, you might have claimed an object by mistake, or another project might need to work on the object. The Release Claim command reassigns a claim from the active project back to as-built for a WBS project and back to initial state for an As-Built project so that another project can claim it.

  • 3D design objects created in the Change Management model cannot be released from an As-Built project. You must manually delete these objects from the model.

  • In a Change Management model, make sure that you save your session file before using Release Claim on a large set of objects (current limit is 5000). After calling the Release Claim command, reopen the saved session file and refresh the workspace to display the changes and to continue working in the session.

  • To remove a new object from the active project, you can delete the object.

  • If problems occur when using the Release Claim command, refer to the Troubleshooting Help for additional information.

  • You must have Write permission to both the project and the as-built to release an object. Also, the current status for the project and for the as-built must be Working.
