Web Cut

  1. Click Tools > Layers to display the Layer toolbar.

  2. Click Change Layer .

  3. On the dialog box, select the ProfileSketch layer, and click OK.

  4. Use the Point command to create two points coincident with the Top mapping point. These points are the TopConnectPoint and FlangeConnectPoint.

  5. Use the Point command to create one point coincident with the Bottom mapping point, or at the bottom end of the profile sketch geometry if there is no Bottom mapping point. This point is the BottomConnectPoint.

  6. Create two points for TopLengthPoint and BottomLengthPoint.

You cannot have more than one Intersection constraint at a location. If there is more than one, the symbol may fail when placed in the model. Use endpoint or coincident constraints instead for creating these points.

Select the points and change their width to 2.00 mm so that they are visible. Also, change the color and turn off the relationship handles if additional visibility is needed.

  7. Select Active layer only.

  8. In the Point name field, choose WebCutPoint.

  9. Select a row in the grid to highlight the corresponding point in the graphic view.

  10. In the Attribute setting box, type the appropriate name:

    • TopConnectPoint

    • BottomConnectPoint

    • TopLengthPoint

    • BottomLengthPoint

    • FlangeConnectPoint

  11. Click Apply.

  12. Repeat until all points on the ProfileSketch layer are named.

  13. Click OK.
