Web Cut

  1. Shift-click to select the bounded part lines, and click Group on the Change toolbar.

  2. Shift-click to select the web cut points, and click Group on the Change toolbar.

  3. Shift-click to select the lines and arcs that define web end cut geometry polygon, and click Group on the Change toolbar.

Do not select points, construction lines, dimensions, or constraints.

It is good practice to select geometry for the group in a clockwise direction. Start at the origin point and go clockwise around the contour, ending on the origin point.

  4. If an idealized boundary is used for the bounding part, select the bounding part curve and click Group on the Change toolbar.

Even though the bounding part curve is a single line, it must be grouped to be selected as an input to the end cut.

If profile geometry inserted from a profile symbol is used as the bounding part, the group for that geometry should already exist.

Flange Cut

  1. Shift-click to select the bounded part lines, and click Group on the Change toolbar.

  2. Shift-click to select the flange cut points, and click Group on the Change toolbar.

  3. Shift-click to select the lines and arcs that define flange end cut geometry polygon, and click Group on the Change toolbar.
