Controls which variables should appear in the Variable Table.

Type — Specifies the type of variables that are displayed in the Variable Table. If you click Dimension, then only dimension variables are displayed in the Variable Table; these variables directly control elements of a design. If you click User Variables, then only logical variables that you created are displayed. This variable type cannot directly control a design. A user variable must be set equal to a value or mathematical expression; for example, PI = 3.14159. Variables can control dimensional relationships by setting the dimensional relationship equal to the variable.

Named by — Controls the view in the Variable Table so that only named variables are displayed.

User — Displays only variables that you have named.

System — Displays only variables, usually the dimensions, that the software has created.

Both — Displays all variables that are named.

Graphics in — Displays variables that are associated with elements in the current document, active window, or group of elements that you have selected. The default filter is set to Last selected window.

Last selected window — Displays variables that are associated with elements in the active window.

Select set — Displays variables that are associated with elements in a group that you have selected in the document.

File — Displays variables that are associated with elements in the current document.
