Create the symbol geometry.
Web Cut
-
Sketch the end cut on the Default layer.
-
Sketch two horizontal lines and one vertical line, and click Trim or Extend to Next as needed to create a polygon with the end cut geometry along the right side.
-
If construction lines are needed, sketch them on the Construction layer.
-
Constrain the end cut to the bounding geometry and to the bounded part lines. Do not over-constrain. For example, use parallel constraints instead of horizontal/vertical constraints.
-
Dimension the end cut on the Dimensions layer with respect to the bounding profile and to the bounded part lines.
-
Leave a gap where the bounded part attaches to the bounding part. Dimension the gap. The gap accounts for fit up clearance.
-
Add dimensions to assure that the cutting geometry is larger than the profile.
-
-
Variables are created for each of the dimensions. If refinement of the variables is required, click Tools > Variables. Rename, change default values, and add formulas as needed.
