For the software to know how to handle graphics in the symbol file, you create unique groups that define the different geometry contours of the profile, such as simple physical and detailed physical.
It is easier to select the geometry for each group by having only one layer at a time displayed. Click Layer Status and select Active Layer Only. You can then display each layer individually.
For each symbol representation to be created, perform the following steps:
-
Sketch each representation on a separate layer. See Sketch and Constrain Profile Cross-Section Geometry.
-
Shift-click to select the lines and arcs that define the contour of the profile. Do not select points, construction lines, dimensions, or constraints.
-
Click Group on the Change toolbar.
The geometry for the group must be selected in order in a clockwise direction. As geometry is picked, the contour should always form a continuous curve. Good practice is to start at the origin point and go clockwise around the contour, ending on the origin point.
